For artists who prefer to make their own paint, Schmincke Ready-To-Use Mediums are a quicker and more reliable option than experimenting with different binders and chemicals on your own.
Ready-To-Use Gouache Medium provides the right ratio of gum arabic (the binder used in virtually all watercolor), dextrin (which makes the paint stiffer and more matte), and a wetting agent to help disperse the pigment. Just add one part pigment to two parts Ready-To-Use Medium to make gouache. Use a muller or a mortar and pestle to improve the dispersion.
